ATO Crackdown on Clothing Expenses
The Australian Taxation Office is closely examining work-related clothing and laundry expense claims of taxpayers submitting their 2017-18 tax returns.
The ATO says that clothing claims are up nearly 20% over the last five years with people either making mistakes or deliberately over-claiming. Common mistakes include people claiming ineligible clothing, claiming for something without having spent the money, and not being able to explain the basis for how the claim was calculated.
Make sure any work-related clothing costs you are claiming deductions for are eligible and correct!

August Highlights - Aged Care Seminar
Last month were fortunate enough to host Jayne Maini from Millennium Aged Care Consultants for another information seminar.
Her industry expertise and passion for helping families get the best possible aged care was gratefully received by everyone who attended.
Many people avoid talking about aged care, as it's a difficult subject. But Jayne ensures that people of all ages know that they have a choice when it comes to aged care, and that everyone deserves to receive the care they need.
If you would like to be notified about our next Aged Care Seminar, please email Chelsea, email@example.com. It is not just for those who are looking at Aged Care in the short-term, these information seminars are extremely useful to everyone, as we will all likely need to plan for our families at some time in the future.

If you don't have a google account but you'd still like to help us get the word out about our services, there is always the option to write a short testimonial for Aintree Group and send it through to our team. And feel free to refer people in your network who you think would benefit from our advice and support!
