It began in 1994, when Shane McKenna graduated from Swinburne University and made the decision to become an accountant in public practice.

His career began at an inner suburban Melbourne firm under the tutelage of then Senior Partner, Peter Towell.

After completing his CA and an extended trip around the world in 1997, Shane rejoined the firm and in 2001 was appointed, at the age of 28, the youngest ever equity Partner of the firm. He earned the role as the head of the specialist taxation division soon after.

In late 2004 Shane realised that something was missing in his professional life and he made the bold move to part with the firm that he had been part of for 11 years and establish Aintree Group.

Since January 2005, Shane and the team at Aintree Group have been providing business, specialist taxation and financial advisory services to small and medium enterprises throughout Australia, with a specialist focus on professional services providers.
